In 1940 abput 17,00 Chinese immigrated to America. This was because of the gold rush

Some push factors about china that caused immigration are that there was not much economic success for them to continue living there, also there were more jobs in America and easier to start a life, though it can be rough.

Some pull factors about American that caused immigration are that they have more jobs, more religious freedom, and they welcomed people into american no matter what their differences (until the chinese exclusion act) they were extremely welcoming

When the Chinese would come to america they tended to settle in cities. In the cities they created places called chinatowns. In these chinatowns, mostly chinese inhabited them. they had chinese food and chinese traditions. It made them feel more at home.

When the chinese settled in america, they would work in many different industries such as clothing, food, factories, agriculture, books, cleaning, craft, electric, entertainment, furniture, jewelry, and much more!
